Benefits of Ages Forty to Ninety

Ml Yusuf Laher

Sayyidina Abdullah ibni Abu Bakr Siddeeq (Radhiyallaahu Anhumaa) is the narrator. He says that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said:

The explanation of the narration is as follows (not exact word for word translation but translation with explanations):

When a Muslim person reaches the age of forty, Allah turns away three sicknesses from him; insanity, leprosy and another type of skin disease similar to leprosy.

When the person reaches fifty years of age, his sins are decreased.

When he reaches sixty, Allah grants the person the guidance to turn towards Him (in repentance, etc.).

When he reaches seventy, the occupants of the sky (angels) start loving him.

When he reaches eighty, Allah confirms the person’s good deeds (this will mean that he will not lose his good deeds) and wipes out his bad deeds.

When he reaches ninety, Allah forgives all his past and present sins, and he becomes the ‘prisoner’ of Allah on earth. (This means that he will enjoy special Divine protection), and he will intercede for his family (on Qiyaamah).  (Ma’rifatus Sahaabah of Asbahaani V11 P285)

May Allah Ta’aala grant us all these favours, Aameen.
